| Description | The Net-Based Self-Evaluation as Guidance project is an attempt to provide new ways and means in the guiding of adults.
The Project is the result of a co-operation between the SID of North Jutland, the SID of Central Aalborg, the KAD of North Jutland, the AMU of North Jutland, the VUC of North Jutland, and the County of North Jutland. The Labour Market Council yields financial support to the project and is represented along with the initiators in the steering committee of the project.
The goal of the project is to create a home page for adults to use for evaluation of their reading and writing skills. Also it is the intention to motivate a new target group to make active and purposeful use of the Internet.
The homepage is designed in co-operation with a circle of potential users to make sure that the page is understood appropriately, that it is easily navigated and easy to understand.
The net-based homepage will consist of the following main pages:
The Self Evaluation consists of a series of tasks to be solved - it is our hope that the user will find them entertaining - and the solutions provided by the user will enable the computer to produce a skill profile. Along with the profile the user will be presented with a number of questions to use for considerations of his or her performance.
Word games/ Quizzes made for adults by adults to experiment with words and letters.
An Experience Room for working creatively with words, images, colours and maybe sound.
Opportunities of educations to adults who want to improve their reading-, spelling and writing skills. Links will be provided to local educational institutions offering preparatory education of adults (the FVU).
News and experience will provide food for thought by publicing articles, statements and stories and statements by people or about people who have encountered difficulties with the Danish language.
Also there will be a mail account to which everyone can send a point of view or their personal story.
Links to other addresses that are considered to be of interest to adults with reading and writing difficulties. The page will be adjusted on a regular basis e.g . according to user recommendations.
The Project runs for a period from September 1rst 2001 to December 31 2002. The home page will subsequently be maintained by the County of North Jutland, the Youth and Adult Educations dept. |
