| Description | In collaboration with Siemens and Mikrograf, the 12 'gymnasiums' HF Courses, Ranum HF Center, - i.e. educations at grammar school level, and the Amtscentret have developed a large scale joint project, which in the lifetime of the project ending in December 2003 will bring the gymnasium and HF educations on the leading edge in the application of IT in the classroom teaching.
In principle the project consists of two main parts:
In the first place there is a large common part centred around the establishing of a large common conference system, primarily based on FirstClass. This system is to enable each student, senior master and school to break the isolation inherent in the application of conventional teaching methods. In principle everyone could communicate with everyone else both from school and from home. This enables entirely new potentials for e.g. project oriented teaching, which is estimated to gain increasing importance in the future.
Likewise an Intranet will be established on all schools, allowing students and parents to retrieve information on rules and whatever might be happening at the school at all times.
The second part consists of a long range of minor subprojects. These are subject oriented pedagogical projects with subjects working together across the schools. Other subprojects are actually of a cross-disciplinary nature combining to or several subjects on either one single school or in a collaboration between a few schools.
And finally there are development projects within a single subject on one single school.
The object of all the subprojects is to develop teaching methods, which within the project period should be made available to other schools and teams.
By the completion of this project the gymnasium and HF educations will be well-prepared to face the challenges and requirements faced by a modern 21rst century preparatory education. |
